I will show you my expert tips for glaze application, how to safely mix powder glazes,  how to safely mix powder glazes, and what to do if it all goes pear shaped.

Included in the workshop is a tour of the NPS store where you will get to choose a powdered glaze to work with and take home after the session. You will also learn about clay compatibility and take a tour of the NPS kilns to discover everything you need to know about firing temperatures. I'll also bring in my special “Tools of the Trade” and you will get a chance to practice glazing with bisque test tiles and two bisque ware bowls. Private Plaster Mould Making Workshop

This hands-on private workshop is a focused introduction to plaster mould making for ceramics, designed for ceramicists who want to understand the process properly—from master to finished mould. You’ll learn how to design and make a one-part plaster mould, with a strong emphasis on preparation, accuracy, and good studio habits. We’ll look at examples of finished moulds and discuss the differences between one-part and multi-part moulds, so you leave with a clear understanding of what’s possible and when more complex moulds are required.

Want to make serving ware or larger pieces but don’t quite have the muscle to centre the large amount of clay needed? Let me show you how to ‘throw’ a large bowl and plate on the wheel using a variety of techniques and moulds!

This workshop is perfect for those wishing to add another technique to their tool box. Using a combination of hand-building techniques and wheel throwing, this session will focus on throwing a large serving bowl/plate and adding a foot using wet clay.
