MASTERCLASS: MAKING A FRUIT BOWL

THROWING PLATES WITH A MOULD - Want to make serving ware or larger pieces but don’t quite have the muscle to centre the large amount of clay needed? Let me show you how to ‘throw’ a large bowl and plate on the wheel using a variety of techniques and moulds!

This workshop is perfect for those wishing to add another technique to their tool box. Using a combination of hand-building techniques and wheel throwing, this session will focus on throwing a large serving bowl/plate and adding a foot using wet clay.

In this 2 hour seminar, I will take you through important safety and clean-up considerations, reclaiming processes, safe kiln operations and many handy tools and techniques for setting up your very own studio!

MASTERCLASS: GLAZING BOOTCAMP - March SOLD OUT

Are you a fumble fingers when it comes to glazing? Or do you get so paralysed with glazing fear that you stare at your bisque for ages, afraid of wrecking all your hard work? Don’t worry, I am here to help you. This NEW workshop will help you gain confidence in brushing, dipping and pouring glazes. I will show you my expert tips for glaze application, how to safely mix powder glazes,  how to safely mix powder glazes, and what to do if it all goes pear shaped.

Included in the workshop is a tour of the NPS store where you will get to choose a powdered glaze to work with and take home after the session. You will also learn about clay compatibility and take a tour of the NPS kilns to discover everything you need to know about firing temperatures. I'll also bring in my special “Tools of the Trade” and you will get a chance to practice glazing with bisque test tiles and two bisque ware bowls. Northcote Pottery Supplies will then fired your pieces for you.All glaze materials, tools, and firing is included - no hidden costs.
