Date: Jan 14 and 22nd 2025
Time: 2 PM - 3:15 PM
Location: Span House Thornbury - 64 Clyde Street, Thornbury Vic 3071
Have some holiday fun with clay with Adele, a qualified teacher, artist, local mum and ceramicist.
Unleash your child's creativity with our fun and hands-on clay class! Perfect for kids aged 5-12, each week brings a new exciting project to spark their imaginations and get their hands dirty. From crafting cute critters to making festive holiday decorations, this course will inspire young artists and build their confidence with clay.
Nurturing creativity in kids is just as vital as sports and academics because it fosters problem-solving skills, emotional expression, and innovative thinking. Engaging in creative activities like art and crafts allows children to explore their imagination, build confidence, and develop fine motor skills. Creativity promotes well-rounded growth by teaching kids to think outside the box, adapt to challenges, and express themselves in unique ways. In a world that values innovation, nurturing creativity helps kids thrive both personally and academically.
Feel free to snack before as hands get a bit dirty to eat during class. Bring a water bottle, towel and apron.
As a registered teacher, I hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and WWC Certificate. As a mum of two pork chops, I mean a 5 and 7 year old, I strive to create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for your kiddo. Adults are welcome to stay for a cuppa or go for a walk. The roses are lovely in the neighbourhood!
All tools, materials, glazing and firing are included. Work will be glazed and fired after the session and available for pick up from my studio in Thornbury.
If you can't make a session, (things happen, I get that!) you are welcome to transfer your place to another child, just let me know. Refunds not available 24 hours before the start of a session. Min of 5 participants for the class to run. Spaces are limited!
Class Schedule:
- Week 1 (Jan 14): Make a decorative clay mask
- Week 2 (Jan 22): Make a tiny person/fairy house
